Refund Policy
Understanding how refunds work with our comparison service
On This Page
Overview
We at CompareBucket want to help you simplify and clarify your travel arrangements through the use of our service. We are a comparison service only and do not book, process or accept payments or charge your credit card directly. This means that any refund for your booking is the responsibility of the third-party service provider who provided you the booking when you booked with CompareBucket.
When you make a selection from one of our deals, you are connected to a third-party website that processes and completes your reservation. Your reservation will be governed by the terms of your booking with the third-party travel provider.
How Refunds Work
You are entitled to receive a refund for your reservation based upon the specific terms and conditions outlined in the provider's policies regarding refunds, cancellations and returns. Each provider has their own refund policy including rules, timeframes and eligibility requirements associated with each reservation made with that provider.
Factors that may affect your chances of getting a refund include:
- Types of bookings made(refundable/non-refundable)
- Cancellation date
- Provider's policies
- Promotional/discounted pricing
Prior to making a reservation through CompareBucket, we highly encourage you to take a few minutes to read the relevant refund terms and conditions on the provider's site.
Our Duties
When you confirm your booking, you have now begun 'receiving services' from the service provider according to your contract and the terms and conditions of the service provider. Although CompareBucket provides you with comparison pricing, we have no approval authority, refund processing or payment returns, since you are working with the provider after leaving our site.
You can contact CompareBucket for assistance with obtaining contact information for providers that you cannot find.
Refund Processing Times
Providers may have different time frames for issuing refunds and your payment method may also affect how long it takes to process your refund. Approved refunds might only take a few days to process but could also take several weeks to process based on these factors:
- Banking requirements
- Payment gateways
- Verification procedures from the travel provider
- Customer service requests by customers.
Important Note
CompareBucket is not liable for:
- Denied refund requests
- Partial refunds
- Delays in processing refunds
- Any changes in policy made by travel providers.
Final Advice
Additionally, to help prevent issues in the future, we suggest you do the following prior to booking tickets:
- Read through their refund policy thoroughly (to ensure it meets your standards).
- Select a refundable option if your travel plans are unsure to allow for more flexibility.
- You should keep a record of your electronic ticket(s) in two different places.
